Bloody Mary

"Bucket of Blood" and "Red Snapper", are the earlier names that have been lost; the name "Bloody Mary" stuck. It calls up the memory of Mary Tudor, Mary the first of England, for her bloody war against the Prostestants. The recipe was brought to New York from Paris in 1933 and was popularized as a hangover cure. This is why it is so typically found at a Sunday brunch.

P.S. : Bloody Mary contains tomato juice and vodka.
